(My professor has a habit of beginning my [160 person] history class in this way. It seemed appropriate to address you all.)
Right now, I should be starting my linguistics exam, but after so long an absence I decided to pop in for a very brief update. In August I started classes at my hometown university, which has drastically altered things for this homeschooler. Since college started I have been:
Reading. Mostly coursework, and a little of the Bible. Notably The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker, Pride and Prejudice (please tell me I don't have to give you the author), Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy (in the middle of that for my English class... meh), and Psalms.
Eating. Larabars. Lots and lots of Larabars.
Learning. How college works. That there is no "normal" week. That I can be really arrogant and self-referential, especially when I'm not in my comfort zone.
Missing. Unrestricted time with my family. Being constantly around people who have the same heart and the same Lord.
Watching. Various movies and shows that I've had an interest in but my family couldn't care less about, such as Dr. Thorne, Lark Rise to Candleford, Belle (2013), and Jane Austen adaptations I've never seen. No time for reviews, but I give my hearty endorsement to the first three mentioned.
Blessed By. Spending time with my middle sister over fall break, involving food and Blimey Cow homeschooler videos.
Getting Excited For. My oldest sister is having a baby IN TWO MONTHS and IT'S MY FIRST NEPHEW.
Enjoying. Autumn leaves, autumn air, and autumn wind. Watching scenes from P&P'95 in English class. Observing interesting people. The university whistle that blows at the end of classes (which I can hear from my house).
That's all for now, folks.
Ahem . . . I resent your blanket statement that no one in your house would be interested in your current television choices. I know *someone* who would LOVE to watch those shows with you.
ReplyDeleteYay, glad to see a post! XD That's super exciting about your nephew!!! :-D I love the Psalms.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see that someone's glad to see it! ;) I was pretty sure all my followers had left for better things long ago, haha!
DeleteI hadn't! ;-D
